This refers to proof coins which exhibit frosted raised design elements over mirrored backgrounds. Early date proof coins are exceedingly difficult to find with such features. PCGS gives a DCAM or CAM designation for these types of coins. NGC gives an Ultra Cameo or Cameo designation.
